Doane Places 21 Teams on NAIA Scholar Team List

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2023-24 NAIA Scholar Team honorees and Doane placed a school record 21 teams on the list. The award was available for 22 of Doane's athletic teams. This marks the third consecutive year Doane has increased their team total.

To receive the award, a varsity program must hold a 3.0 grade point average (gpa) for the academic year. It is available to teams in sports that the NAIA sponsors for championships.

The top two GPAs matched last year's top two but with different programs. This year, Women's Basketball takes the top nod for the NAIA Scholar Team award in the athletic department with a 3.63, edging out women's cross country with a 3.62. Women's Wrestling received the honor for the first time in the program's short history.
