In game two, Jamestown jumped out early with two runs in the top of the first inning. Doane cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning on a Brayden Jones RBI-single to plate Osborn. In the second inning, the Tigers tied the game on an RBI-groundout by Aaron Vulcano.
Jamestown regained the lead in the 5th inning on a sacrifice fly as Vulcano robbed the batter of a grand slam home run. On the play, the runner at second tagged and tried to score but was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Tigers tied the game on an RBI-double from Osborn. Doane went in front on a wild pitch that allowed Okayasu to score. Following a pair of walks to load the bases, Nate Mensik delivered his second three-run triple of the weekend to put Doane up 7-3.
Doane finished the game with eight hits from eight different players. Osborn scored two runs while Mensik led the way with three RBI.
On the mound, Broc Songster started and went 4.0 innings, allowing two runs on zero hits and five walks while striking out five. Kyler Beekman threw the final 5.0 innings and allowed one unearned run on two hits while striking out six.
Next up for the Tigers will be their match-up with No. 17 Concordia. The two teams will try a third time to get their doubleheader in after weather and field conditions postponed the first two tries. First pitch for Tuesday, April 2, in Seward is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
