GPAC Baseball Honors Awarded for 2024
Baseball earned 12 all-conference honors and two Gold Glove honors in this year's postseason awards from the GPAC.
Aaron Forrest became Doane's first two-time conference pitcher of the year, going undefeated in the regular season. He finished the year with an 11-1 overall record and a 3.01 earned run average in 16 starts. He posted 96 strikeouts and a 1.13 WHIP as he earned First Team All-GPAC honors for the second straight year.
Joe Osborn repeated on the First Team list in the outfield for the third straight season. He finished the year hitting .333 with 12 doubles, 13 home runs, and 44 runs driven in. He added 10 stolen bases and 44 runs scored on the year.
Justin Nevells received Second Team honors at third base for the second time in three years. He hit .349 on the year, finishing with 19 doubles, two triples, and three home runs. He had 43 runs scored and 29 RBI. Nevells also earned GPAC Gold Glove honors at third base for the second straight year. He posted a .947 fielding percentage with 111 defensive assists and was part of eight double plays.
Narumi Okayasu was named to the Second Team at shortstop. He hit .310 on the year with 48 runs scored. He posted nine doubles, a triple, four home runs and drove in 33 runs.
Logan Amick earned Second Team honors for the second straight year in the outfield. He finished the year with a .363 batting average with 14 doubles, two home runs, and 27 runs driven in. He scored 32 runs and stole 11 bases as well.
Dane Kelsey received honorable mention after batting .323 on the season. He had six doubles and five home runs while driving in 26 runs.
Dionysius Chialtas posted a .279 batting average on the season to earn honorable mention honors at catcher. He had five doubles and drove in eight runs.
Aaron Vulcano was named honorable mention in the outfield. He hit .295 with eight doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. He scored 34 runs and drove in 24 runs.
Kellan Voggesser received honorable mention as a starting pitcher. He went 4-2 on the season in nine starts. He recorded a 5.32 earned run average with 40 strikeouts in 44.0 innings pitched.
Kyler Beekman received honorable mention honors as a combo pitcher, starting four games on the year with nine appearances out of the bullpen. He was 5-0 with a save in 35.2 innings pitched.
Isaiah Miller received honorable mention as a relief pitcher. In 39.2 innings pitched, he struck out 32 batters and went 2-2 with three saves. He had a 3.63 earned run average.
Ethan Merk received honorable mention as a relief pitcher. He was 4-3 on the year with four saves in 44.1 innings. He had 40 strikeouts with a 4.06 earned run average.
Brayden Jones was a GPAC Gold Glove selection at first base. He posted a .987 fielding percentage and was part of 18 double plays turned.
