Forrest Named NAIA Second Team All-American
Doane (Neb.) Baseball starting pitcher Aaron Forrest (Sr./Peoria, Ariz.) was named today to the NAIA Baseball All-American Second Team as well as the ABCA-Rawlings NAIA All-American Second Team list. He is the first Tiger player to earn honors above honorable mention All-American.
Forrest, the two-time GPAC Pitcher of the Year, was one of the Top 8 pitchers according to the NAIA committee, with four starting pitchers on the First Team, four on the Second Team, and four on the Third Team. He posted an 11-1 record on the year with a 3.01 earned average and a 1.13 WHIP in 92.2 innings pitched. Forrest recorded 96 strikeouts for a 9.32 K/9 and recorded five complete games in 16 starts.
The 2023-24 season was a record breaking year for Forrest, capturing several season and career records. He picked up season and career records for wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched, while also finishing in the Doane Top 10 in other categories.
For his career, Forrest posted a 28-9 overall record with one save and nine complete games. He threw 298.2 innings, striking out 321 batters and finishing second in GPAC history for total strikeouts. Forrest had a 3.62 career earned run average in 58 appearances.
