GPAC All-Conference Baseball Team Announced

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2025 all-conference list and the Doane Baseball team placed 11 players on the list while adding four players on the seasonal awards list. 

Riley Plummer was named the GPAC Freshman of the Year after his season on the mound for the Tigers. The red-shirt freshman went 9-0 in 12 starts, posting a 2.86 earned run average and 1.27 WHIP. He posted 69.1 innings of work, throwing two complete games. Plummer also earned First Team all-conference honors.

Defensively, the Tigers won three Gold Gloves. Each of Doane's recipients are first-time honorees.

Max Harris was recognized at first base, where he posted a 1.000 fielding percentage. In 234 total chances on the season, he had 227 putouts and seven assists. He was a part of 10 doubles plays that the Tigers turned.

Jordan Bond was recognized at third base, posting a .921 fielding percentage on the season. In 76 chances, he had 32 putouts and 38 assists while turning two double plays.

Taiyo Takahashi joined the list as the left fielder on the nine-player Gold Glove team. He posted a 1.000 fielding percentage on 53 changes. He recorded 49 putouts and four outfield assists.

Joining Plummer as a First Team All-GPAC selection was designated hitter Sam Kwapnioski. In 141 at-bats this year, he posted a .433 batting average with 17 doubles, a triple, and 14 home runs. Kwapnioski finished the year with an .865 slugging percentage, driving in 52 runs and scoring 39.

Logan Amick received Second Team honors in the outfield after posting a .376 batting average in 181 at-bats. He recorded 15 doubles, two triples, and three home runs to go with 50 runs scored and 30 RBI. He led the team with 11 stolen bases (11-for-11).

Aaron Vulcano was named Second Team All-GPAC in the outfield as well. He posted a .319 batting average in 135 at-bats. Vulcano collected nine doubles, a triple, and seven home runs while scoring 29 runs and posting 31 RBI.

Receiving honorable mention all-conference honors were Johnny Vulcano (2B), Taiyo Takahashi (OF), Jordan Bond (3B), Nicolas Yard (SP/RP), Ethan Merk (RP), Kaden Crawford (SP), and Raidyn Steele (SP/RP).

The Tigers finished the year with a 32-15 overall record.
