Football Shutout in First Road Contest

Football traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday to take on No. 13 Morningside. The Mustangs relied on their passing game early as they posted a 70-0 win on their home field.

Morningside finished the game with 440 yards passing and then turned to the ground game around the end zone, posting seven rushing touchdowns.

Sam Hartman finished the game for Doane going 13-of-28 for 91 yards. Doane was limited to 30 yards rushing, 15 from David Harris. Darnell Riley led the team with four receptions for 20 yards. 

Cooper Hancock and Andrew Brown were in on eight tackles apiece with Brown adding two pass breakups. Tanner Simdorn added seven tackles with Reece Zutavern and Keegan Theobald picking up six tackles apiece. 

Brown posted 167 yards on nine kickoff returns.

Doane returns to play at home on Saturday, September 28, at 1 PM against No. 2 Northwestern.
