Men's Basketball Picks Up Road Win at Bethany

Men's Basketball closed out the pre-holiday break with a trip to Lindsborg, Kansas, to take on Bethany. The Tigers posted a 74-59 win over the Swedes, their first win at Bethany since October 2015. The win also gives Doane a 4-3 series lead over the Swedes.

Bethany led the majority of the opening 13 minutes of action with the score tied to start the game and at 8-all. A 6-0 run by the Swedes gave them their largest lead of the game, a lead that would be matched three other times.

Doane took their first lead of the game behind a 7-0 run to take a 22-21 lead with 6:49 to play. The Tigers would take the lead for good with 4:09 left following a 3-point basket from Cam Binder. Doane led 36-33 at the break.

In the second half, Bethany was able to pull within a point, 40-39, but a 9-0 run by the Tigers would give Doane their first double-digit lead. An 8-3 run would push the lead to 15 and the largest advantage in the half was 20 points, 74-54.

Balance was a key to the Tigers' success as three different players posted 14 points apiece. Cooper Sheldon posted 14 points and tied his career-high with 14 rebounds. Jack Wilson finished with a career-high 14 points and three assists. Guy Moran added 14 points and Nick Saiz picked up 12 points. Brady Timm dished out a career-high eight assists.
