Men's Basketball Downed by Midland

Men's Basketball went back and forth early on with Midland on Wednesday in Fremont but the Warriors were able to put together a couple of runs that led to an 84-59 win over the Tigers.

Through the opening seven minutes, there were four lead changes between Doane and Midland. The Tigers were hitting from beyond the arc with their first three baskets coming from 3-point territory. The Warriors held a 16-15 lead at the 13-minute mark of the opening half and followed with a 15-0 run. Doane was able to cut the lead to single digits before the halftime break as Midland led 37-28 at the break.

In the second half, Midland started with a 12-0 run which led to a 21-3 run over the opening 7:08 of play. Doane battled back midway through the half from behind the arc as Nick Saiz hit a pair of 3-point baskets with Carter Ruse and Guy Moran each adding one.

Saiz led the Tigers with 11 points and two steals. River Johnston added 10 points. Cooper Sheldon had a team-high eight rebounds and Brady Timm led the Tigers with four assists.

Doane will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa, on Saturday, January 27, to take on Dordt at 2 PM.
