Men's Basketball Drops Home Battle with DWU

Men's Basketball hosted Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday in Crete. DWU used a strong first half to post a 79-70 win over the Tigers.

In the opening half of play, DWU led 43-37 at the break as they shot 52-percent from the floor to Doane's 44-percent. The Tigers made two more field goals in the half but Dakota Wesleyan was 13-of-15 at the free throw line to Doane's 2-of-2. 

Both teams cooled off after the break compared to their first half efforts with DWU shooting 40-percent from the floor and Doane 37-percent. DWU was 10-of-12 at the free throw line to Doane's 4-of-9 in the half.

Brady Timm was the top scorer in the game, posting 29 points while adding a team-high three assists. Cooper Sheldon finished with 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Caleb Hrabik chipped in with 11 points. Ben Renshaw had a game-high three steals.

Doane will travel to Yankton, S.D., on Wednesday, February 7, to take on Mount Marty at 7:45 PM.
