Men's Basketball traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday to take on Briar Cliff. The Chargers opened the game with a 14-2 run as they picked up an 81-64 win over the Tigers.
Doane battled back in the first half, cutting the deficit to four points, 30-26, with five minutes to play only to see BCU go on a 9-2 run to close the half. The Chargers led 39-28 at the break as they shot 52-percent in the first half from the field.
Briar Cliff's largest lead of the second half was 25 points, 74-49, with 6:39 to play. Doane closed the game by out-scoring BCU, 15-7.
Brady Timm led Doane with 15 points and was one of three players with two assists. Caleb Hrabik and Cam Binder added 10 points apiece for the Tigers. Hrabik had a team-high nine rebounds. Doane shot 45.6-percent for the game but was limited to 5-of-19 (26.3-percent) from behind the arc.
Doane will play their final three games of the season at home, starting with a rivalry game against Concordia on February 14 at 7:45 PM.
