Men's Basketball Drops Road Trip to No. 11 Dordt

Men's Basketball hit the road to open 2025 as they traveled to Sioux Center, Iowa, on Thursday to take on No. 11 Dordt. The Defenders utilized an 11-0 run to erase an early Doane lead and post a 94-73 win over the Tigers.

Doane jumped out to a 9-7 lead with 16:50 to play before Dordt scored 11 unanswered to take the lead. The Tigers were able to trim the Defender lead down to four points, 20-16, but Dordt was able to push the lead back to 17 points by the halftime break, 50-33.

The second half started strong for Doane as they cut the lead down to 10 points, 63-53, with 14:04 to play. However, the Defenders hit four consecutive 3-point baskets for a 12-0 run to extend their lead to 22 points.

Glavine McDonald led the way for Doane with 18 points and Brady Timm chipped in with 16 points. Jack Wilson finished with 13 points. Caleb Hrabik led the team with seven rebounds and Timm dished out five assists.

Doane shot 43-percent for the game (26-of-60), hitting 42-percent from behind the arc (10-of-24), and 92-percent of their free throw attempts (11-of-12). Dordt shot 55-percent for the game (36-of-65), making 41-percent of their 3-point attempts (13-of-32), and 90-percent of their free throws (9-of-10).

The Defenders received 26 points from Lucas Lorenzen and 19 points from Bryce Coppock.

Doane will return home on Saturday, January 4, when they host No. 14 Morningside at 3:45 PM.
