Beckman, Chaney Earn All-GPAC Honors

CRETE, Neb. – Doane men's basketball had two student-athletes recognized by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) when the league announced its 2025-26 Men's Basketball All-Conference teams. Freshman guard Trevon Beckman was selected to the All-GPAC Second Team, while senior guard Casen Chaney earned Honorable Mention recognition.

The duo helped lead the Tigers to a 13-15 overall record and a 7-13 mark in GPAC play during the 2025-26 season.

Beckman earned Second Team honors after producing one of the most efficient offensive seasons in the GPAC. The freshman started all 27 games he appeared in and led the Tigers in scoring at 15.0 points per game while shooting 55.5 percent from the field and an impressive 47.7 percent from three-point range. He added 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

During conference play, Beckman elevated his game further, averaging 15.3 points per game while connecting on 54.5 percent of his field goal attempts and 46.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Beckman reached double figures in scoring 22 times during the season and posted seven games of 20 or more points. His season-high came on Jan. 10 against Waldorf when he poured in 28 points on 11-of-14 shooting. He also scored 26 points in a GPAC contest against Mount Marty and finished the year with 405 total points.

Chaney received Honorable Mention recognition after serving as the Tigers' floor leader throughout the season. Starting all 28 contests, he averaged 14.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game while leading Doane with 99 assists and 61 steals. He finished second on the team with 400 points.

In conference competition, Chaney averaged 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, ranking among the team's leaders in each category. His all-around contributions were instrumental on both ends of the floor as he consistently matched up against opposing teams' top perimeter players.

Chaney recorded 21 double-figure scoring performances during the season, highlighted by a season-high 23-point outing against Morningside in December. He also posted 21 points and 11 assists in the regular-season finale against Midland while reaching double figures in scoring in each of the final seven games of the season.

Beckman and Chaney combined for 805 points, 159 assists and 103 steals while helping guide the Tigers throughout the conference season.
