Men's Golf Preview at NAIA National Championships
Doane Men's Golf will make their NAIA National Championship debut as a team on Tuesday, May 16, when the Tigers take the golf course in Mesa, Arizona. This year's tournament will be held at Las Sendas Golf Club from May 16-19. The cut will be made after two rounds of the tournament.
Competing for the Tigers will be Blake Andersen, Achilleas Lazaridis, Blake Skoumal, Ryan Weiss, and Andrew Paquette.
Andersen recorded a team-leading average score of 73.64 in 25 rounds. He had a low-round of 65 and posted six Top 10 finishes in 11 events.
Lazaridis is averaging 74.28 strokes per round in 25 rounds with a low round of 68 and three Top 10 finishes in 11 tournaments.
Skoumal is averaging 75.14 strokes in 22 rounds with a low round of 68. He has five Top 10 finishes in 10 meets.
Weiss played 25 rounds and averaged 75.20 in 11 events. He has a low round of 69 on the season with three Top 10 finishes.
Paquette has played in 19 rounds and is averaging 75.42 strokes per round. He shot a low round of 69 and collected four Top 10 finishes in nine events.
Doane will play in the afternoon session on May 16, playing with Campbellsville. The three-some for each grouping will also include five players who qualified as individuals for the meet. Doane's first tee-time will be at 1:10 PM local time (3:10 PM CST) and each group will go off every 10 minutes starting on Hole 10. On May 17, the same groupings will play in the morning session, with the first Tiger tee time at 8:00 AM local time (10:00 AM CST).
