Men's Golf All-GPAC Announced; Parsley Coach of the Year
Doane Men's Golf placed five players on the 2022-23 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Conference list. In addition to the All-GPAC honors, Head Coach Myron Parsley was named the GPAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year.
Blake Andersen was named to the First Team. Earning Second Team honors were Achilleas Lazaridis, Blake Skoumal, and Ryan Weiss. Andrew Paquette picked up honorable mention All-GPAC honors. The Tigers won their first GPAC Championship this season and the first conference championship since 1976.
Andersen recorded a team-leading average score of 73.64 in 25 rounds. He had a low-round of 65 and posted six Top 10 finishes in 11 events. At the GPAC Championships, he tied for the low-score with a 54-hole total of 214.
Lazaridis is averaging 74.28 strokes per round in 25 rounds with a low round of 68 and three Top 10 finishes in 11 tournaments. Lazaridis tied for 28th at the conference meet with a 228.
Skoumal is averaging 75.14 strokes in 22 rounds with a low round of 68. He has five Top 10 finishes in 10 meets. Skoumal tied for fourth at the conference meet with a 217.
Weiss played 25 rounds and averaged 75.20 in 11 events. He has a low round of 69 on the season with three Top 10 finishes. Weiss placed sixth at the conference meet with a 218.
Paquette has played in 19 rounds and is averaging 75.42 strokes per round. He shot a low round of 69 and collected four Top 10 finishes in nine events. Paquette tied for 11th at the GPAC meet with a 220.
The Tigers will compete at the NAIA Championships on May 16 in Mesa, Arizona.
