Men's Golf Places Third at NWU Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Doane men's golf team delivered a strong second-round push to secure a third-place finish at the Howl at the Hill, hosted at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln.

Doane posted a two-day total of 614 (315-299), improving by 16 strokes from round one to round two to finish behind team champion Nebraska Wesleyan (592) and runner-up Iowa Western CC (598).

The Tigers were led by a standout performance from Heidar Bjarnason, who tied for second overall with a two-round total of 146. After opening with a 76, Bjarnason surged up the leaderboard with a 70 in the second round—one of the lowest rounds of the tournament.

Jax Loh, competing as an individual, also turned in a strong showing by tying for sixth with a 149 (72-77).

In the team lineup, Cauy Walters finished tied for 18th at 155 (79-76), while Josh Wassmer tied for 21st with a 156 (82-74), showing a notable improvement of eight strokes between rounds. Ben Kottmeyer contributed to the team score, finishing tied for 33rd with a 160 (78-82), and Carson Kildow rounded out the scoring five with a 162 (83-79).

Additional individual competitors for Doane included Matt McConkey (T-24, 158) and Embree Stutsman (T-33, 160).
