Bjarnason Named GPAC Men's Golfer of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for April 6-12, 2026.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-2026 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Men – Heidar Bjarnason, Doane University
Heidar Bjarnason of Doane University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Bjarnason, a sophomore from, Selfoss, Iceland, led Doane to a 4th place finish at the Lark Invitational on Monday and Tuesday with a 54-hole score of 218, tying for 4th individual. He followed up with a win in singles play for Doane's annual match play meeting against Concordia, defeating Brock Rogers, 2 & 1. Doane won the event 18.5-2.5, posting their 8th win in the 12 years of the competition.
