Men's Soccer Drops Home Finale

Doane Men's Soccer closed out their home slate of games on Saturday as they played host to Dordt. The Defenders picked up a 3-1 road win over the Tigers.

In the 28' of play, Tyson Reitsma scored for a 1-0 lead. Dordt would take the lead into halftime despite Doane holding a 10-9 shot advantage.

In the second half, the Defenders added to their lead in the 50' as Blake Hansen scored. Doane cut the lead in half in the 57' as Jesus Maganda (SR/Schuyler, Neb.) sent a free kick towards the goal. The Dordt goalkeeper deflected the ball away but right towards Grayson Meyer (JR/Lincoln, Neb.) who headed the ball into the goal for his first of the season. Dordt would pick up an insurance goal in the 70' for the game's final goal.

Doane finished with an 18-16 lead in shot attempts but Dordt would have the edge in shots on-goal, 8-7. Nikolas Olmos posted five saves in goal for the Tigers.

The Tigers will be on the road for their final two games of the regular season, starting with Concordia on October 26. Doane is in a must-win situation as they continue to battle for a postseason berth.
