Men's Soccer took on Briar Cliff to open GPAC play on Wednesday evening in Crete. The Chargers picked up a goal in each half to earn a 2-0 win.
The Chargers first goal of the game came in the 26' as Gabriel Hernandez Les sent a corner kick into the back of the goal box and Lucas Monteiro headed the ball in for a goal. In the second half, Filip Peters took a long shot attempt in the 61' but the ball was redirected with a header by Flynn Kopp for a goal.
Briar Cliff out-shot the Tigers, 14-7, in the game. Tiger goalkeeper Curtis Oberg made his first start of the season and picked up eight saves in the game.
Doane will travel to Sioux City, Iowa, for their next contest to take on Morningside on September 21. Start time is scheduled for 8 PM.
