Oberg, Rodriguez Named CSC Academic All-District

CRETE, Neb. — Doane University Men's Soccer was recognized on the national stage as goalkeeper Curtis Oberg and defender Pablo Rodriguez were named to the 2025–26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, honoring standout student-athletes for excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-District® program celebrates the nation's top performers across NCAA and NAIA institutions, recognizing student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement while contributing significantly to their teams' competitive success.

Oberg Anchors the Tigers in Goal

Senior goalkeeper Curtis Oberg, who started all 16 matches for the Tigers, earned Academic All-District® distinction following a season in which he played 1325:41 minutes, recorded 87 saves, and posted a .713 save percentage. He also registered one shutout and logged two wins and three draws, consistently providing leadership as the team's last line of defense.

Oberg's workload was among the highest on the roster, and his shot-stopping ability kept Doane competitive throughout the season, helping the Tigers remain in matches despite facing 247 opponent shots, including 135 shots on goal.

Rodriguez Leads the Defensive Corps

Joining him on the Academic All-District® list is senior defender Pablo Rodriguez, who started all 16 games and was one of Doane's most dependable and disciplined field players. Rodriguez logged 1,223 minutes, the third-highest total on the team, anchoring a back line that withstood persistent pressure throughout the season.

Rodriguez contributed offensively as well, recording one assist, while defensively he helped limit opponent's attacks. His consistency, durability, and tactical awareness made him one of the Tigers' most reliable contributors.

Academic Excellence Recognized Nationally

Both Oberg and Rodriguez earned their distinction through success in the classroom that matches their competitive impact on the field. As Academic All-District® selections, they advance for consideration on the prestigious CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with national honorees set to be announced December 16, 2025.

Their recognition continues Doane University's strong tradition of developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel academically while competing at a high level in the NAIA.
