Chevez Avenges Early Season Loss Against William Jewell

Doane Men's Tennis took on NCAA Division II William Jewell on Monday in Liberty, Missouri. The Tigers were defeated by their hosts, 6-1.

The Cardinals won the doubles team point by winning two of the three matches. Doane's lone doubles win was at No. 3 doubles where Jorge Chevez and Donat Beke teamed up for a 6-1 win.

In singles action, Doane's team point came from Chevez as he picked up a victory at 1-singles. He defeated Ugnius Bickauskis, 7-5, 6-3, avenging an earlier season loss in a tie-break.

Doane will travel to Salina, Kansas, on March 11 to take on Kansas Wesleyan with first-serve scheduled for 3:00 PM.
