Men's Tennis Drops Battle in Salina

Doane Men's Tennis dropped a 5-2 decision at Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday evening in Salina, Kansas. The Tigers dropped to 2-7 on the season.

In doubles play, Kansas Wesleyan swept all three matches. They won at 1-doubles and 2-doubles by scores of 6-0 and took 3-doubles with a 7-5 win.

Singles action saw the Coyotes win four of the six matches. At 1-singles, NAIA Central Region No. 11 Bryce Ware defeated Jorge Chevez, 6-4, 6-3. At 2-singles, No. 18 Alex Sherer topped Jose Purizaca, 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8). Doane won at 3-singles behind Federico Infante, 6-1, 6-0, and at 4-singles with Esteban Gutierrez winning 6-4, 6-3. Kansas Wesleyan won at 5-singles and 6-singles as well.

Doane will travel to North Newton, Kansas, on Sunday, March 12, to take on Bethel at 1 PM.
