Men's Tennis Rolls in GPAC Rivalry Match

Doane Men's Tennis hosted Hastings on Wednesday afternoon in Crete in a rivalry GPAC match-up. The Tigers started out hot and didn't let up as they posted a 7-0 victory over the Broncos.

In doubles action, the Tigers swept the three matches for the team point. Jorge Chevez and Federico Infante won 6-1 at 1-doubles while Jose Purizaca and Esteban Gutierrez won by the same score, 6-1, at 2-doubles. The match at 3-doubles was tight with Diego Infante and Donat Beke posting a 6-4 win.

In singles, despite being the last on the court in doubles play, Beke and Diego Infante were the first off with victories. Beke won 6-2, 6-0, at 6-singles with Infante winning 6-2, 6-1, at 5-singles. Purizaca clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1, win at 2-singles. Gutierrez won 6-1, 6-1, at 4-singles and Chevez won 6-2, 6-1, at 1-singles. The final match went to Federico Infante at 3-singles, 6-1, 6-3.

Doane is back at home on Saturday, April 15, when they play host to Morningside at 12:00 PM. The match will also serve as Senior Day for the Tigers.
