Men's Tennis Edged in GPAC Semifinals

Doane Men's Tennis closed their season on Friday evening in the GPAC Championships, dropping a 4-3 decision to Morningside in the semifinals. The match was played at the Fremont YMCA.

The Tigers secured the doubles point with wins at 1 and 3-doubles. Jorge Chevez and Federico Infante posted a 6-1 win at the top of the lineup. Diego Infante and Donat Beke collected a 7-5 win at 3-doubles.

In singles action, Doane recorded wins in straight sets at 4-singles and 5-singles. Esteban Gutierrez won 6-2, 7-5, at 4-singles while Diego Infante won 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) at 5-singles. Morningside won the other four singles matches, all in three sets.

Doane finishes the season with a 10-13 overall record.
