Purizaca Named GPAC Player of the Week

Men's Tennis junior Jose Purizaca has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Player of the Week after his performance in two matches last week. The Tigers defeated Tabor and Baker in a pair of road matches.

Purizaca went 2-0 in singles play at No. 2 singles for the Tigers as he moved his record to 5-5 overall this season. He posted a 6-4, 7-6 (5), win over JP Fort of Tabor and a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) win over Corvin Christ of Baker.

In doubles play, he went 1-1 on the week. At No. 2 doubles, he teamed with Esteban Gutierrez for a 6-4 win at Tabor. The duo teamed up at No. 1 doubles against Baker, dropping the match, 6-4.

The Tigers will head to Alabama when they return to action over Spring Break, taking on Spring Hill on March 11.
