Men's Tennis Wins 10th Match of the Season

Men's Tennis entertained Baker (Kan.) on Monday afternoon in Crete at the Newburg Held Tennis Courts. The Tigers posted a 7-0 victory over the Wildcats for their 10th win of the year. Baker was short a player, giving Doane forfeit wins at 3-doubles and 6-singles.

Doane won the two doubles matches contested on the day. Federico Infante and Diego Infante won 6-0 at 1-doubles and the team of Esteban Gutierrez and Jose Purizaca won 7-5 at 2-doubles.

In singles play, Doane swept through all five contested matches. At 1-singles, Gutierrez battled to a tie-break victory, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8). Purizaca won 6-0, 6-2, at 2-singles. Federico Infante won 6-2, 6-3, at 3-singles with Diego Infante winning 6-2, 7-5, at 4-singles. Julio Avila won 6-3, 6-1, at 5-singles.

Doane will host Concordia on Wednesday, April 10, at 4:30 PM with Senior Day recognition taking place prior to the match.
