Men's Tennis Drops Home Match with Spires
Men's Tennis hosted Saint Mary (Kan.) on Tuesday morning in Crete, dropping the match to the Spires, 6-1. The Tigers dropped to 1-1 on the season while Saint Mary moved to 1-0 in dual action.
Saint Mary took the doubles point, sweeping the three matches. The closest match was at 1-doubles where Jose Purizaca and Diego Infante were edged out in a tie-break, 7-6 (7-4).
Purizaca collected Doane's lone win on the day with a 6-4, 6-4, win at No. 1 singles. He moved into 9th on the dual wins list as he won for the 32nd time in singles play.
Next up for the Tigers will be October 4 at the Hastings Invite at noon.
