Men's Tennis Downed in Narrow Defeat to KWU

Men's Tennis hosted Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday in Crete. The two teams came in with identical records on the season, showing the potential for a close match. The Coyotes were able to post a 4-3 win over Doane in the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the Tigers' home courts. The four previous meetings were either at a neutral site or in Salina, Kansas.

The doubles point went to KWU as they won two of the three doubles matches. Doane's win was at No. 1 doubles where Jose Purizaca and Diego Infante won 6-2.

In singles play, Purizaca won at No. 1 in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, over Raul Davalos-Gavino. Infante won by scores of 6-3, 6-4, over Adam Hanson at No. 2 singles. Andre Hartman won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0, over Paul Jittawait.

Doane will be in action again on Thursday, March 27, when they travel to Lincoln to take on Nebraska Wesleyan.
