Men's Tennis All-GPAC Honors Announced

CRETE, Neb. - The Great Plains Athletic Conference released its postseason men's tennis honors with six members of the Doane University program earning recognition following the 2026 season, highlighted by multiple first-team selections in singles and doubles play.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Mats Vervloet, who earned First Team All-GPAC honors at No. 1 singles after posting an 11-9 overall record and a 4-1 mark in conference play. Vervloet closed the season strong, winning seven of his final nine matches and finished with a winning percentage of .550 at the top singles position. In addition to his singles recognition, Vervloet contributed across multiple doubles pairings during the year.

Diego Infante collected multiple postseason honors, earning honorable mention recognition at No. 2 singles while being selected to the First Team All-GPAC doubles squad at the No. 1 position alongside teammate Elliot Dassel. Infante finished the season 6-13 in singles competition and 7-12 overall in doubles play, including a 5-3 mark at No. 2 doubles.

Dassel was also recognized individually as a First Team All-GPAC selection at No. 4 singles. He posted a 4-17 overall singles record but went 2-3 in conference action and paired with Infante to anchor Doane's top doubles lineup. The duo finished 7-11 overall and 2-2 in conference play, helping earn first-team recognition at No. 1 doubles.

At No. 3 singles, Jaime Asiain Banzo earned honorable mention recognition after posting an 8-10 singles record, including a 7-8 mark at No. 3 singles and a 2-3 conference record. Asiain Banzo also picked up honorable mention honors at No. 2 doubles alongside Andre Hartman. The tandem combined for a 6-6 overall record and went 2-3 in conference play.

Hartman secured honorable mention status at No. 5 singles after compiling an 8-11 overall record and a 3-2 conference mark. He added honorable mention doubles recognition after helping form one of Doane's most consistent doubles pairings with Asiain Banzo.

Rounding out the honorees was Miles Mollring, who earned honorable mention recognition at No. 6 singles. Mollring finished the season 7-11 overall with a 2-3 conference record and won six matches at the No. 6 position.

As a team, Doane finished the 2026 season with a 7-14 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference play. The Tigers went 2-3 at home, 2-6 on the road and 3-5 at neutral sites while posting a winning conference singles percentage of .533 and remaining competitive throughout the GPAC schedule.
