Turner Breaks Hurdles Record

Doane Track and Field sent one athlete to the Graduate Classic hosted by Nebraska-Lincoln on Saturday and the performance was record breaking.

Zach Turner represented the Tigers in the 60m hurdles and posted the second fastest time in the prelims as he was clocked in 8.09.

In the finals, Turner would line up next to Jaylan McConico, the 2021 B1G Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year at Iowa. McConico would take the title in the finals as he posted a winning time of 7.78 seconds.

Turner would step up to the challenge and finished second with a time of 7.91 seconds, breaking the previous school record of 7.93 seconds set by Virgil Mitchell in 2009 at the NAIA Championships. Turner's previous best time of 8.03 seconds was set in December at the Concordia Early Bird meet.
