Men's Track and Field Hits Big Marks in Final GPAC Tune-up

Doane Men's Track and Field had their final tune-up as they competed at the Concordia Invite on Friday afternoon in Seward.

JaDae Moore raced to a time of 6.87 in the 60m dash to pick up the victory. Zach Turner won the 200m with an NAIA automatic qualifying time of 22.01 while Austin Drake was second with a time of 22.26, meeting the NAIA provisional qualifying time. Both qualifying times were adjusted for the track, leaving Turner with a mark of 21.63 and Drake a 21.87.

Matthew Case won the 400m with a time of 51.59. Jordan Tasler placed second in the 600m with a time of 1:23.78. Duncan Blankenship ran a time of 1:59.50 to place third in the 800m.

In the 1000m, Kalen Dockweiler ran a winning time of 2:31.24 to post an NAIA provisional qualifying mark. His converted track time was 2:29.19. Luke Bonifas ran a time of 4:27.58 in the mile run to finish fourth. Jakob Tadlock finished fourth in the 3000m with a time of 9:12.11.

Turner won the 60m hurdles in a time of 7.95, setting a fieldhouse record. He is the first to run a sub-8 second hurdle race on the Concordia track. The team of Drake, Tasler, Connor Bradley, and Case won the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:23.09. In the distance medley relay, the team of Thomas Oliver, Joaquin Gutierrez, Kingdon Hawes, and Dockweiler won with a NAIA automatic qualifying time of 10:17.10. Their track conversion time was 10:08.83.

In the field events, Dylan Starr and Carter Reckling each cleared 1.96m (6-05.00) in the high jump with Starr finishing fourth based on jump attempts. In the pole vault, Mike Pulliam finished fourth with a clearance of 4.50m (14-09.00).

Nolan Mayer placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.71m (22-00.25). Cordale Moxey posted a mark of 13.47m (44-02.50) to place second in the triple jump.

Zac Stieb finished in third with a throw of 15.05m (49-04.50) in the shot put. In the weight throw, Luke Partridge posted a throw of 18.87m (61-11.00) to finish second while Trey Dickey had a throw of 17.81m (58-05.25) to place fourth. Both of their throws met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. Jaedon Lothrop met the provisional standard with a throw of 17.00m (55-09.25) as he finished sixth.

Heading into the GPAC Championships next week in Seward, the following Tigers have hit an NAIA automatic qualifying mark this year.
