NAIA Track and Field Championship Preview
Doane Track and Field will begin their NAIA National Championship meet on Thursday in Brookings, S.D. The Tigers will have action begin on the women's side at 12:00 PM with the pentathlon 60m hurdles. The Doane men will begin with the 4x400m relay at 5:00 PM.
Lindsay Adams will be the only Tiger in action for the women on Thursday as she competes in the pentathlon. Adams enters the meet with the third-best score on the season in the NAIA with 3,508 points.
The men get underway on Thursday in two relays. First up will be the 4x400m relay where Doane enters with the eighth-best time this year of 3:16.15 (track converted). Expected to run are Zach Turner, Austin Drake, Caleb Mulder, and Joaquin Gutierrez. The distance medley relay will also run on the first night of action as Doane enters with the 12th-best time. Scheduled to run for Doane will be Thomas Oliver, Jordan Tasler, Kingdon Hawes, and Kalen Dockweiler.
Friday's action for Doane will start at 12:00 PM where Matthew Campbell will look for the three-peat in the men's weight throw. He will be joined by teammates Luke Partridge, Trey Dickey, and Jaedon Lothrop in the event. The women will get underway at 12:35 with the 60m hurdles with Josie Garrett taking the track.
Saturday's action for the women will begin at 11:30 AM with the women's shot put as Allison Skala looks to defend her national title. She will be joined by teammate Alivia Baucom in the event. Pending results of running events in the prelims on Thursday and Friday could dictate an earlier start time for the Tiger men. They do know Mike Pulliam will kick off the field event action in the pole vault at 1:15 PM.
