Dickey Named GPAC Field Athlete of the Week

Men's Track and Field thrower Trey Dickey has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Concordia Invite on February 9 in Seward. Dickey won the weight throw, his first intercollegiate victory in the event.

Dickey, a junior from Seward, posted a throw of 18.01m (59-02.00) to win the weight throw with a season-best mark. He has qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Brookings, S.D., on February 29-March 2. Dickey was an NAIA All-American in 2023, placing third at the national meet.

In his career, Dickey has posted eight Top 3 finishes in the weight throw with five coming this season in five meets. He has earned two GPAC All-Conference honors (2022, 2023) in the event with a Top 8 finish and will look to add to the list this weekend as Doane competes at the GPAC Championships in Yankton, S.D., on February 16-17.
