Combined Events Kick of GPAC Championships for Track and Field
The Track and Field teams began their quest for Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships on Friday with the combined events portion of the conference meet. The women's pentathlon concluded with the first team points awarded. The men's heptathlon completed four events with three more to go on Saturday morning.
Chaney Nelson competed in the pentathlon for the Tigers but did not finish. She recorded 1,985 points through four events. Concordia received 22 points in the event with Midland picking up 15 points and Hastings receiving two points.
In the heptathlon, Andrew Harms sits in 3rd place after the first day with 2,528 points, 178 points behind 1st place. Addison Croghan is in 5th with 2,504 points. Devin Jepson is next at 2,429 points with Mason Zimmerman in 7th with 2,367 points. Zach Fye is in 15th place with 1,857 points.
The men will resume action at 9 AM with the remainder of the meet getting underway at 12 PM.
