Gutierrez Takes Second at Nationals

Men's Track and Field competed at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Brookings, S.D. The Tigers finished with four All-American performances and tied for 16th after scoring 17 team points.

The top finish for the Tigers came from Joaquin Gutierrez. He posted a school record time of 1:17.27 in the 600m and placed second in the event. In the prelims, he broke the original school record with a time of 1:17.64.

Zach Turner placed fifth in the 60m hurdle with a time of 7.99. He posted a time of 7.92 in the prelims.

Gutierrez and Turner also participated on the 4x400m relay team, joining Connor Bradley and JaDae Moore. The team posted a time of 3:14.16 in the prelims to advance to the finals. In the final race of the championship meet, the squad ran a season-best time of 3:13.77 to place sixth overall. Their time is the third-fastest in program history.

Dylan Starr placed seventh in the high jump. He cleared 2.05m (6-08.75) on his second attempt at the height.
