Men's Throwers Open Season at Wichita State Meet

Doane Men's Track and Field sent their throwers to the Shocker Spring Invitational in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday and Saturday. 

In the hammer throw on Friday, Andrew Schmitz placed second with a throw of 52.88m (173-06). On Saturday, Schmitz won the shot put with a throw of 14.75m (48-04.75).

Cale Bessler was the top thrower in the discus with a mark of 44.41m (145-08) as he placed third. Mason Krause led the Tigers in the javelin with a fourth place finish as he had a throw of 54.41m (178-06).

The full team will compete at the Central Nebraska Invite on April 1 in Kearney.
