Men's Track and Field Competes in Kearney
Doane Men's Track and Field competed in the Central Nebraska Challenge on Saturday in Kearney with athletes from all NCAA divisions and the NAIA competing.
On the track, JaDae Moore posted the fastest time for the Tigers in the 100m dash with a time of 10.74 to place third. Austin Drake won the 200m dash with an NAIA provisional qualifying time of 21.45. Joaquin Gutierrez placed third in the 400m dash with a time of 49.03. In the 800m run, Kingdon Hawes placed 10th with a time of 1:56.28.
Kalen Dockweiler took sixth in the 1500m run with a time of 3:58.12. In the 5000m run, Luke Bonifas finished ninth with a time of 15:51.91. John Krejci led the way in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.21 to finish fifth. In the 400m hurdles, he ran a time of 58.13 to place eighth.
The 4x400m relay team of Drake, Hawes, Ivan Varela, and Gutierrez placed second with a time of 3:20.65.
In field events, Carter Reckling tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 2.00m (6-06.75). Krejci had the top Tiger mark in the long jump with a leap of 6.47m (21-02.75) to place 13th. Cordale Moxey led the way in the triple jump with a sixth place finish as he jumped 13.39m (43-11.25).
Andrew Schmitz took second place in the shot put with a throw of 14.36m (47-01.50). In the invitational shot put, featuring the top nine throwers entering the meet, Zac Stieb placed seventh with a throw of 15.06m (49-05.00).
In the discus, Stieb placed fourth with a throw of 46.31m (151-11). Trey Dickey placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.69m (176-02). In the invitational hammer throw, Luke Partridge hit a throw of 55.30m (181-05) to place sixth and hit an NAIA provisional qualifying mark. Bryant Jeary notched a throw of 46.51m (152-07) to place third in the javelin. Parker Lange posted a throw of 50.87m (166-11) in the invitational javelin to finish seventh.
Next up for the Tigers will be their annual dual with Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday, April 7, in Crete.
