Men's Track and Field Continues Dominance Over NWU
Doane Men's Track and Field won their annual dual with Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday afternoon in Crete. The Tigers outscored the Prairie Wolves, 112-78, to improve to 17-1 all-time in the head-to-head competition.
On the track, Luke Davis won the 100m dash in a time of 10.72. In the 200m dash, Austin Drake placed second with a time of 21.88. Joaquin Gutierrez finished second with a time of 49.31 in the 400m dash. Kalen Dockweiler won the 800m run with a time of 1:57.79.
Dockweiler took second in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:01.64. Luke Bonifas won the 5,000m run with a time of 15:44.17. In the 110m hurdles, Jack Krejci took second with a time of 14.96. Krejci won the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.11.
In the 4x100m relay, the team of JaDae Moore, Drake, Chris Vincent, and Davis won with a time of 41.60. The 4x400m relay team placed third in a time of 3:35.82.
Carter Reckling won the high jump with a mark of 2.08m (6-09.75) to qualify for the NAIA National Championships in May. His mark is currently tied for the best in the NAIA this season. Mike Pulliam won the pole vault with a clearance of 4.55m (14-11.00). Vince Lauenroth won the triple jump with a leap of 14.34m (47-00.75). Davis was second in the long jump with a mark of 6.82m (22-04.50).
The Tigers swept the titles in the four throwing events. Luke Partridge won the hammer throw with a toss of 56.66m (185-11) and qualified for the national meet. His mark put him into fifth place on the NAIA chart. Parker Lange won the javelin with a mark of 50.55m (165-10). Cale Bessler won the discus with a mark of 44.48m (145-11). Zac Stieb won the shot put with a throw of 15.13m (49-07.75).
Next up for the Tigers is the Concordia Invite on April 14-15 in Seward and the Kansas Relays on April 13-15.
