Men's Track and Field Competes at Kansas Relays

Doane Men's Track and Field had a handful of athletes competing in the 100-year anniversary of the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kansas. The three day meet started on Thursday but the final day was cut short due to weather conditions.

On Thursday, the men's 4x100m relay team of JaDae Moore, Austin Drake, Chris Vincent, and Luke Davis ran a time of 42.17 to place 12th overall.

In the hammer throw, four Tigers competed with Andrew Schmitz leading the way with a throw of 55.45m (181-11) to place eighth overall. Trey Dickey finished 11th with a throw of 52.33m (171-08) and Luke Partridge was 12th with a mark of 52.26m (171-05). Jaedon Lothrop finished 13th with a throw of 51.74m (169-09).

On Saturday, Mason Krause competed in the javelin. He hit a throw of 58.38m (191-06) to place fifth overall. His mark met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard and was 13th-best in the NAIA at the time of the event.

Next up for the Tigers is the John Greene Combined Events on April 20-21 and the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic on April 21-22, both in Crete.
