Men's Track and Field Competes at Concordia Twilight
Doane Men's Track and Field made the short trip to Seward to compete in the Concordia Twilight. A lightning delay slowed the pace of the meet but most events were able to be completed before it was too dark to finish.
On the track, Thomas Oliver won the 3,000m steeplechase and finished under the NAIA automatic qualifying standard with a time of 9:22.94. He ran a time of 1:10 on his final lap.
Mike Pulliam hit a mark of 4.70m (15-05.00) in the pole vault, meeting the NAIA provisional standard.
In the shot put, Andrew Schmitz hit a throw of 15.39m (50-06.00). His mark meets the NAIA provisional qualifying standard.
Luke Partridge became the sixth thrower this season in the NAIA to surpass 200-feet in the hammer throw. He hit a toss of 61.14m (200-07) to improve his automatic qualifying mark. Schmitz hit a provisional mark with a throw of 55.51m (182-01) and moved to 15th in the NAIA.
The complete list of national qualifiers will be announced next week for the NAIA Championship meet in Indiana.
