Men's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season in Kearney

Men's Track and Field opened the outdoor season at the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney.

On the track, Connor Bradley placed third in the 100m dash with a time of 10.87. Caleb Mulder took sixth place in the 200m with a time of 22.27.

In the 400m, Joaquin Gutierrez posted a national qualifying mark with a time of 47.98, the fifth-fastest time in program history. He took first place in the race. Emmanuel Yego finished ninth in the 800m with a time of 1:57.40.

Thomas Oliver ran the 1500m and posted a time of 4:05.56 to place fifth. In the 5000m, Oliver finished 10th with a time of 16:07.52.

Zach Turner won both hurdles races with NAIA automatic qualifying times. In the 110m hurdles, he posted a time of 13.89 which is the second-fastest time in program history. He posted the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.05.

The 4x100m relay team ran a time of 41.67. Running for the Tigers were Gutierrez, JaDae Moore, Chris Vincent, and Bradley.

In the field events, Doane picked up two NAIA provisional qualifying marks in the high jump. Carter Reckling and Dylan Starr each cleared 2.05m (6-08.75) as they placed second and third, respectively, based on jump attempts.

Branson McDonald had the top Tiger clearance in the pole vault with a height of 4.50m (14-09.00) and placed fourth. Michael Willey recorded a jump of 6.51m (21-04.25) to place eighth. In the triple jump, Trevor Malone hit a mark of 13.92m (45-08.00) to place second.

There were two separate competitions in three of the throwing events, featuring an open event and an invitational event. In the open shot put, Tad Dimmit had the top mark with a throw of 14.43m (47-04.25). In the invitational shot put, Cale Bessler posted a throw of 15.13m (49-07.75) to take second.

Jaden Vollenweider recorded the top mark in the open discus with a mark of 43.73m (143-06). Trey Dickey took fourth in the invitational discus with a mark of 44.68m (146-07). Vollenweider took second in the open hammer throw with a mark of 49.59m (162-08). Jaedon Lothrop hit a throw of 48.70m (159-09) and placed fifth in the invitational hammer throw. Mason Crumbliss took sixth in the javelin with a throw of 45.87m (150-06).

Next up for the Tigers will be the Concordia Invitational on April 5-6 in Seward.
