Men's Track and Field Ties for 12th at NAIA Championships

Men's Track and Field closed out the 2024 season with a 12th place finish at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Marion, Indiana. The Tigers recorded four Top eight finishes to record 19 team points in the meet.

Doane recorded all of their team points on the final day of action. Thomas Oliver started the day for the Tigers with a fifth place finish in the 3000m steeplechase. He ran a time of 9:07.93 in the finals. In the prelims on Wednesday, Oliver posted the fastest time as he was clocked in 9:04.90, breaking the school record.

Zach Turner turned in the next two All-American performances in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles. Turner advanced to the finals in the 110m hurdles by posting a time of 14.14 in the prelims on Thursday. In the finals, he ran a time of 13.93 to place third. In the 400m hurdles on Wednesday, Turner ran a time of 51.58 for the fastest time heading into the finals. On Friday, he clocked a personal best time of 51.17 and placed third. Turner is the first Tiger to earn multiple All-American honors in the 400m hurdles for his career.

The meet was capped with the final event, the 4x400m relay. The Tiger team of Joaquin Gutierrez, Connor Bradley, Caleb Mulder, and Turner qualified for the finals on Thursday evening with a time of 3:10.98 for the fifth-fastest time of the prelims. In Friday's final, the team posted a time of 3:11.34 and placed sixth overall.
