Bennett Snags GPAC Wrestler of the Week Honors

Doane wrestler Hunter Bennett has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Wrestler of the Week after his performance at the UNK Younes Hospitality Open in Kearney. This is the first time he has received the honor.

Bennett went 5-1 on the weekend before hitting his match limit. He picked up three wins over NCAA Division II opponents and each victory came a different way. He opened with a tech fall win, 28-11, before picking up a win by pin in 4:05. Following an 18-8 major decision, he had a 5-1 decision to advance to the semifinals. Following his lone loss, he came back with a with that came via injury stoppage.

Next up for the Tigers will be the Conner/Oppenheim Doane Open on December 3.
