Men's Wrestling Places Nine on All-GPAC List
Doane Men's Wrestling placed nine athletes on this year's Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Conference list, tying the program mark set last year. The Tigers finished as runner-up during the regular season and in the postseason tournament this year.
Headlining the GPAC list was the GPAC Wrestler of the Year, Baagii Boldmaa. He was named the wrestler of the year for the third consecutive year and is the only GPAC wrestler to receive the honor three times in their career. Boldmaa takes a 30-0 record into the NAIA National Championships.
Receiving First Team honors for the third time is Daniel Vargas at 125. A three-time conference champion, Vargas is 21-2 on the season. He is a four-time All-GPAC selection.
Nate Lendt received First Team All-GPAC honors in his first year in the conference. Lendt takes a 29-3 record into the national championships.
Bradley Antesberger is 25-1 on the season and earned his second First Team All-GPAC nod. He is a three-time all-conference selection and a two-time GPAC champion.
Earning Second Team All-GPAC honors was Tristan Zamilpa. He is 17-4 on the season after taking runner-up at the conference meet. He is a four-time All-GPAC selection.
Chinges Tsermaa received Second Team honors after a runner-up finish at the conference championships and takes a 17-4 record into the national tournament. He is a two-time All-GPAC selection.
Earning All-GPAC honors for the third time is Brandon Antesberger. He received Second Team honors this year after a Third Place finish in the conference meet and is 31-6 going into the national meet.
Michael Scarponi is a four-time All-GPAC selection and received honorable mention this year. He is 19-7 on the season heading into nationals after finishing third in the GPAC meet.
Receiving his first All-GPAC honor is Benjamin Dobler. He was tabbed an honorable mention selection and takes a 29-8 record into nationals.
The NAIA National Championships will be held on March 3-4 in Park City, Kansas.
