Men's Wrestling Receives NWCA Academic Awards

Doane Men's Wrestling landed in the Top 5 of the NAIA this year for team grade point average (GPA) in a release from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) on Wednesday. The Tigers' varsity squad recorded a team GPA of 3.419 to place fifth on the Scholar All-American Team list. They were the only conference team to land in the Top 15 that was released.

Additionally, individual NWCA Scholar All-Americans were announced with Doane placing 11 wrestlers on the list, third-most from any program.

Receiving the individual honor this year are: Brandon Antesberger, Hunter Bennett, Baagii Boldmaa, Roberto Cordova, Garrett Cornwell, Benjamin Dobler, Nate Lendt, Ben Miller, Michael Scarponi, Chinges Tsermaa, and Terungwa Unongo.

Doane finished sixth at the NAIA National Championships this year and third at the NWCA NAIA National Duals.
