Rizek Named GPAC Wrestler of the Week

Men's Wrestler Nathan Rizek has been named this week's GPAC Men's Wrestler of the Week. This is his first time receiving the honor.

Rizek went 2-0 last week at the GPAC Duals, picking up a pair of pins against Northwestern and Briar Cliff. In his match against Northwestern's Jonny Burnette, he recorded a pin in 26 seconds. The pin was the fastest in program history in the 133-pound weight class.

Rizek followed up with a match against NAIA No. 3 CaRon Watson. Trailing entering the final period, Rizek had top control and was able to work Watson to his back to record a pin at 5:32. It marked the first Top 10 win for Rizek in his time at Doane. He improved to 5-4 on the season.

Doane returns to action this weekend as they host the Conner/Oppenheim Doane Open on Saturday, December 2, inside Fuhrer Field House. The men's and women's tournaments are scheduled to start at 9 AM.
