Grape Named GPAC Men's Wrestler of the Week

Men's Wrestling picked up their second Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) weekly honor of the season as Kasten Grape has been named the GPAC Men's Wrestler of the Week presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. Wrestlers performances from the week of November 27-December 3 were used for consideration. This is Grape's first weekly honor.

Grape went 4-0 at the Conner/Oppenheim Doane Open over the weekend, defeating three ranked wrestlers. He opened the tournament with a pin in 19 seconds, setting the record for fastest pin in the 197 division for Doane.

In the quarterfinal round, he took on NJCAA No. 1 Hunter Hall of Carl Albert (Okla.) and defeated him, 5-1. Grape posted a pin in the semifinals over NAIA No. 23 John Scchuttler of Graceland in 3:46. In the championship match, he defeated NAIA No. 13 Garavous Kouekabakilaho of Grand View, 6-5.

Grape and the Tigers will compete in Fremont, Nebraska, on Thursday, December 7, when they take on Midland in a GPAC Dual. The first match of the dual is scheduled for 7 PM.
