Beauperthuy Snags Second Wrestler of the Week Honor

Tyson Beauperthuy has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Wrestler of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports, after his performance at the NWCA National Duals for Doane. This marks the second time this season that he has received the honor.

Beauperthuy, a red-shirt sophomore from Colorado Springs, went 5-0 in the duals the Tigers competed in on the week. He is now 18-1 on the season at 184 and 19-1 overall, currently ranked No. 4 in the NAIA.

He opened action with a 23-8 tech fall win over Adrian Chavez-Morales of Southern Oregon. He followed with a pin over Will Stewart of Marian (Ind.) in 2:13. In his final match of the first day, Beauperthuy defeated NAIA No. 14 Chandler Woenker of Campbellsville (Tenn.) by major decision, 11-1.

On the second day of action, Beauperthuy opened with a win over Rocco D'Ascoli of Ottawa (Kan.) by tech fall, 20-4. His final match was a 5-4 decision victory over No. 20 Alan Badley of Providence (Mont.).

The Tigers return to action on Friday, January 12, when they host Concordia in a conference dual. Senior Day will take place prior to the match, which is scheduled for a 7 PM start.
