Antesberger Headlines All-GPAC Wrestling Honors

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2024 All-Conference list for wrestling on Wednesday with several Doane wrestlers highlighting the season. Bradley Antesberger, currently undefeated, was named the GPAC Wrestler of the Year and Dana Vote was named the GPAC Coach of the Year. Vote led the Tigers to a GPAC duals season and tournament championship this year.

Antesberger, ranked No. 1 at 197, is 17-0 on the year and won his bracket at the conference tournament. He was joined on the First Team All-GPAC list by Nathan Rizek, Nathan Lendt, Benjamin Miller, Michael Scarponi, Tyson Beauperthuy, and Kasten Grape. Rizek won the 125 division this year, Lendt won at 149, Miller won at 157, Scarponi won at 174, and Beauperthuy won at 184. Grape was runner-up at 197 to Antesberger.

Rizek is 15-7 overall this year and 8-1 in his current weight class. Lendt is 21-1 overall and ranked No. 2 in the NAIA at 149. Miller enters the national meet with a 22-7 overall record. Scarponi is 6-3 on the year after missing the first half of the season. Beauperthuy is 28-1 overall and 27-1 in his weight class. Grape is 21-3 overall and 19-2 at 197, with both losses against Antesberger.

Cael Jordan received Second Team honors after finishing runner to Scarponi at 174 and holds a 13-6 record on the year. Eli Criblez received Honorable Mention recognition at 285 after placing fourth in the conference meet and is 27-13 overall.

All nine honorees also received automatic bids to the NAIA National Championships on February 29-March 2 in Wichita, Kansas.
