Men's Wrestling Places Seventh at NWCA National Duals

Men's Wrestling closed out the NWCA NAIA National Duals on Saturday afternoon against No. 17 Missouri Valley in the seventh place match. The won the final three weight classes to post a 26-19 win.

The Vikings won the first three matches to take a 10-0 lead. Doane picked up a win at 149 courtesy of Nate Lendt. He picked up a 19-3 tech fall victory. Ben Miller followed with a pin at 157 in 2:44 to give the Tigers a momentary lead, 11-10. Missouri Valley won the next two matches to regain the lead, 19-11.

At 184, Tyson Beauperthuy collected a win by pin in 2:15. Doane regained the lead at 197 at No. 3 Bradley Antesberger defeated No. 2 Elijah Hynes by decision, 7-2. Kasten Grape then wrestled up a weight class and won at heavyweight, pinning his opponent in 5:54 to secure the win.

Doane returns to action on Friday, January 17, when they host Hastings in a GPAC Dual at 7 PM in the Haddix Center.
