Beauperthuy Named CSC Academic All-American

The 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Men's At-Large Teams have been announced. Doane wrestler Tyson Beauperthuy has been selected to the NAIA First Team list.

The list consisted of 20 student-athletes, 10 on the First Team and 10 on the Second Team. He was one of six wrestlers named to the list and one of two on the First Team. Beauperthuy joins a short list of Tigers to be named to the Men's At-Large Team over the years, joining former teammate Nate Lendt, Kris Kiland (tennis), Roger Sack (golf), and John Wiemer (golf).

Beauperthuy had a busy and successful 2024-25 academic year. Just as classes were starting in August, he was in Huntington Beach, Calif., defending his title in the U.S. Senior Beach Wrestling National Championships. Competing at 90kg, he went 4-0 and went unscored upon in the tournament to take first place.

In September, Beauperthuy traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to compete in the FISU World University Beach Wrestling Championships. Representing Team USA, he went 3-0 in the inaugural event to bring home a gold medal.

Over the next few months, Beauperthuy continued to win each time he stepped on the mat. During the regular season, he would receive GPAC Wrestler of the Week honors on four occasions, would win the GPAC Championship at 184, and was named the GPAC Wrestler of the Year. In March, he ran his win-streak to 33 matches, second longest in program history, before dropping the final match of the season to finish as the NAIA National Runner-up with a 33-1 record. He walked away as an NAIA All-American and has a 63-4 record in two seasons at Doane.

Beauperthuy traveled to Queretaro, Mexico, in April to represent Team USA at the Pan-Am Championships, competing in Greco-Roman and Beach Wrestling. He started the championships by serving as the United States flag bearer for the Opening Ceremonies. Beauperthuy took fourth in Greco-Roman and finished second in Beach Wrestling, bringing home a silver medal. In winning a medal, he helped Team USA win the team championship by five points over Mexico.

In late May, Beauperthuy traveled to Ohio to compete in the U23 U.S. National Championships. He went 4-1 and finished in third place overall in Greco-Roman, earning All-American honors.
